We have a unique opportunity within Fleet Services, based within the busy vehicle repair workshop at Smithies Lane Depot - this is your chance to be a part of council services delivered within the community.
We are looking for professional vehicle technicians with a proven track record of providing inspections, maintenance and repairs across a diverse and challenging fleet whilst maintaining the highest possible standards of quality.
Someone who has shown the ability to work to strict deadlines, provide accurate and detailed information whilst upholding the highest possible standards of health and safety.
Being part of a team of technicians tasked with providing the best "GBP for GBP" local authority maintenance function possible and support our Zero 40 Zero Carbon strategy by transitioning the Fleet towards EV.
Using your extensive experience as a vehicle technician, you will contribute to providing management information which will help inform decisions and set priorities in what can be a highly challenging environment with conflicting demands.
Potential candidates will need to have the following in place prior to commencement of the placement -
• A toolkit suitable for carrying out repairs and maintenance on the Councils fleet.
• A valid driver CPC card for LGV and PCV
• A valid Category C and Category D1 driving licence
• A valid digital tachograph card
We will also be conducting teams interviews and driving assessments as part of the selection process.
This is initially a temporary position until the end of the year but likely to be extended.
