Section 20 Officer
Experience
1 Knowledge of office administration systems e.g. monitoring systems, phone use, record keeping
2 A significant knowledge of legislation governing leasehold management and service charges.
3 Work effectively in a busy customer focused environment, coping with changing priorities and pressures
4 Prior experience of giving advice/ information to members of the public
Prepare and issue Section 20 consultation notices and major works invoices.
Provide advice/guidance to officers relating statutory consultation requirements and London Borough of Havering's procedures.
Have a significant working knowledge of relevant legislation along with Court and First Tier Tribunals protocols.
Provide advice/information to leaseholders about major works consultation, billing and collection
Maintain performance information
ensuring targets are met and that
appropriate service improvements
are introduced where necessary.
Reply to correspondence/enquiries
and telephone calls in line with
statutory requirements and London
Borough of Havering's procedures
and timescales.

Continue to be aware of best practice and changing legislation, and London Borough of Havering policies/procedures.
Take responsibility for decision making including more complex cases
Maintain records and information for
manual or computerised systems
within the office
Provide all relevant information to
officers to assist with responses to
leaseholders or their representatives, in preparation of Section 125 offer notices, resale enquiries and collection of service charges
Prioritise and manage workload with minimal supervision.
