Our client, an SME in the retail sector is looking to recruit a part-time Senior HR Manager for a newly created role. Reporting directly into the Finance Director this role is accountable for an HR Advisor. Working in partnership with the Leadership Team, you will take responsibility for implementing the organisational strategy and people plan. The hours are 25-30 and the client is flexible about when the hours are worked.
Role Responsibilities
- Work closely with senior managers in order to develop a Human Resources agenda that closely supports the overall aims of the business plan
- Ensuring our values are lived and embedded in our people practices and communications across the business
- Provide leadership and guidance in Human Resources matters, ensuring awareness of best practice, legal and compliance matters as required
- Establishing a solid succession plan for management and key roles evaluating talent and identifying those with potential
- Drive initiatives to promote and increase staff engagement working on continuous improvement plans with the senior team that reflect survey results and staff satisfaction ratings
- Translate key data into an effective and commercially focused HR and people strategy, working with senior management and influencing them on the best course of action.
- Give counsel and oversee employee relations issues such as grievance and disciplinary cases and manage difficult cases with professionalism.
- Advise senior management on staff salaries in reference to external benchmarks.
- Update and review HR policies, procedures and guidelines and help enforce organisation values.
- Review employee development making recommendations for improvements.
- Report on current and future staffing costs and initiatives.
Person Specification
- Minimum CIPD Level 5
- Solid leadership, HR management processes and principles, solution offering and strategic thinking
- Organisational development, operating procedures, and HR policies and procedures experience
- Good communicator, a trust-worthy partner
- Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations
- A continuous improvement mind-set without losing sight of business objectives

This role would suit an experienced HR Manager, HR Business Partner or Head of HR. In return, you will receive a salary of GBP45-50K FTE (depending on experience).
