Pertemps Exeter are working on behalf of our prestigious client who are now recruiting for Cleanroom Operators.

Based on the outskirts of Paignton, with links to all major bus routes, you will be working in state of the art offices, with free parking and on-site canteen facilities.

The primary purpose of the cleanroom operator is to work as a member of a small specialist team manufacturing pharmaceutical products within a sterile controlled environment. This involves automatic filling, over sealing of products together with cleaning and sterilising of equipment in compliance with all manufacturing SOP's, Batch manufacturing records, in line with H&S requirements and following Pharmaceutical cGMP.

The Operations team will create and drive a culture in order to meet and exceed the business objectives of being a first class leading Pharmaceutical business, setting high standards of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), Quality Management System (QMS), and Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP)

Primary Duties and Areas of Responsibilities
" To participate in all aspects of manufacturing in order to complete the pre-planned production schedule and in doing so ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines and standards.
" To work both as an individual in certain tasks and also as part of a team within various sections of the manufacturing department
" Communicate effectively with work colleagues recognising when issues/events need to be referred to a supervisor e.g. reporting quality incidents.
" Work as a member of a team, valuing the contribution of others and forming co-operative working relationships with all colleagues.
Planning and Organisation
" To 'set up' and operate complex equipment as required by standard operating procedures.
" Requires the movement of items weighing up to 15Kg without the use of mechanical aids in accordance with appropriate Health and Safety regulations. Dismantling equipment for cleaning activities and the transportation of consumables to the production lines.
" Carry out daily cleaning activities after completion of the production batch as set out in standard operating procedures in preparation for the next planned production run.
" Carry out monthly clean of manufacturing department.
" Occasional handling of hazardous chemicals and materials requiring the use of personal protective equipment.

Essential skills for Cleanroom Operators
" Good general education
" Moving and Manual Handling knowledge - is desirable but essential all full training will be provided.
" Able to show self-motivation and use initiative, recognise when to refer upwards
" Able to adapt to change and overcome challenges
" Able to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions and perform basic calculations.
" Experience of working with Standard Operating Procedures.
" Previous process experience.
" Able to deal with hazards associated with occasional exposure to fumes and chemicals.
" Gowning in enclosed clothing to minimise contamination.
