2nd Line Support/Desktop Support
Type: Permanent
Salary: GBP30,000- GBP40,000 per annum Dependent on experience
Location: Brentwood - Will have both in office and remote working options.
Exciting opportunity join a growing financial services provider based in Brentwood. The reason for this role is due to business growth and due to recent upgrades to their IT Infrastructure following Covid 19.
This individual will provide a wide range of support and administration. There is a clear internal career progression path to become a Systems Administrator, my client will provide all the relevant training.
It will be a very much hands on and varied role as part of a small IT Team.
Key Skills/Experience
Support
- Primary point of contact for the Service Desk.
- Diagnose and fix or escalate incidents submitted to the Service Desk.
- Support users in the use of computer equipment and applications.
- Provide assistance to ensure the Servers run optimally, working proactively to pre-empt any problems.
- Ensure Remote Access systems (eg Teamviewer, VPN) are available, and support remote users.
- Maintain users.
- Maintain printing systems.
- Maintain the Intranet, being responsible for updating software and content.
- Assume responsibility for compliant equipment disposal.
- Monitor network performance and escalate errors and anomalies.
- Document support procedures and system configurations.
- Assist with administration of desktop and network based applications and infrastructure, and provide absence cover.
- Keep abreast of windows security updates.
- Diagnose Swift system errors, and recognise which ones will need involvement from programmers.
- Install new IT equipment, eg Servers, PCs, printers etc.
- Work unsociable hours as and when required to meet the needs of the business.
- Assist with major incident handling as required.
