11 hours per week including; alternate weekends and on call duties

The Role 

The purpose of this post is to ensure the effective, efficient and smooth running of the service in accordance with the philosophy of the business and the aims of the service. To respect the individuality and dignity of each person through a person-centered approach and to communicate and cooperate as a team member.

 

The Team Leader is key to ensuring all staff team are supported, whilst encouraging and enabling their Customers to maintain their dignity and independence and lead fulfilling lives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Line manage Care Assistants and Relief Care Assistants, and ensure that all employees receive regular, good quality support, supervision and an annual review in accordance with company policy.  
  • Recruit and select employees and volunteers in conjunction with the Service Manager.
  • Ensure that employees follow policies and procedures, and these are understood and implemented.
  • Support the Service Manager with local care quality audits and checks within the service.
  • Provide and deliver the team learning workshops relevant to aspects of individual care plans.
  • In accordance with company policies, support the Service Manager with absence capability and disciplinary issues in conjunction with the Human Resources department.
  • Attend and contribute where necessary to allocation panel meetings and show prospective customers around the service and promote the service in the local community

 

About You

The ideal candidate will hold or be working towards a QCF Level 3, or equivalent, in Health and Social Care and have demonstrable experience in delivering the highest quality care and support. 

 

As a Team Leader you will be willing to undertake further ongoing relevant training. And it is essential that you have knowledge of the essential standards of quality and safety with regards to the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (regulated activity) Regulations 2010 and the Care Quality Commission (registration) Regulations 2009.
