Accounts Assistant
Welcome Break Support Centre, MK16 9EZ
Full time position
12 month fixed term contract (Maternity Cover)
Salary upto GBP23,000K depending on experience

Working within the Welcome Break Accounts Team, this role will incorporate a range of accounting duties and reports into the Fixed Asset Accountant.
This roles responsibilities and duties mainly involve sales reporting across the Welcome Break brands, raising purchase orders, posting depreciation, and performing balance sheet reconciliations.
This requires meticulous attention to detail and commitment in meeting deadlines and dealing with the many ad hoc projects we need to deal with.
Responsibilities as an Accounts Assistant
- Sales reporting for designated brands
- Preparing monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts ensuring that any outstanding items are investigated and cleared as appropriate efficiently
- Raising Purchase Orders for Capital Expenditure
- Coding the Capital Expenses
- Ensuring the requested POs are within the agreed authority limits
- Processing invoices
- Checking all POs against quotations and backup documentation provided
- Monitoring and resolving queries on PO related invoices blocked for payment
- Preparing Capital creditors period end journal
- Preparing Capitalisation period end journal
- Posting monthly depreciation
- Ensuring detailed working papers to provide adequate audit trails
- Finance cover within the team during absences
- Liaising with Project Managers and suppliers
- Other ad-hoc accounts duties
Your experience as an Accounts Assistant
- Ideally AAT qualified or studying towards your AAT/CIMA/ACCA
- Experience of working within a financial environment
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel
- Good numeracy skills
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to deal confidentially with budget holders
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Well organized
- Ability to maintain clear and accurate financial records
