An amazing opportunity to join a large and global organisation. They provides cloud communications software and services that manage business-critical customer interactions at scale, and are now looking for an experienced MySQL DBA. Our client has bare metal and virtualised Servers within their data centres and also use cloud-based PaaS (AWS EC2) and DBaaS (AWS RDS). Working alone or collaboratively, the successful applicant duties will be varied.

What the role entails:

• MySQL installation and configuration

• User management

• Backups and restores

• Query optimisation

• Creation of stored routines

• Automation

• Performance Tuning

• Software updates and maintenance

• Service monitoring

• Benchmarking

To be considered for the role, you will require the following:

• At least three years' experience of MySQL (or MariaDB or Percona Server) as a DBA within a professional environment

• Knowledge of SQL

• Familiarity with Linux/GNU utilities and bash

• Understanding of replication techniques

• The ability to produce good quality documentation

Desirable attributes include:

• Good Scripting skills (bash, python, PHP, Perl or similar)

• Knowledge of stack elements above and/or below the MySQL service

• AWS or other cloud experience

• Experience of security standards such as PCI-DSS or HIPAA

• Other database management systems
