The Role

We have a great opportunity for a Production Operative (Morning/Back Shift) to join our team at International Timber, based in Falkirk. The Production Operator is an integral part of the Operations Team who will contribute to output efficiencies whilst maintaining quality in a safe working environment using visual inspection and good housekeeping.

Hours

Morning/Afternoon shift pattern rotation.
Week 1: Monday to Thursday from 6am to 2pm and Friday from 6am to 1pm
Week 2: Monday to Thursday from 2pm to 10pm and Friday from 1pm to 8pm

Key Responsibilities

To safely provide support to qualified wood machinist/sawyer/treatment operators in operating designated machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
To undertake general tasks within the timber processing plant at the discretion of and under the direction of the mill or yard supervisors.
To safely operate designated mechanical handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner and achieve targets in loading, unloading, storing and handling of goods as defined by the company
Carry out designated tasks in a safe and timely manner and support site to maintain outstanding EHS performance.
Maintain and take responsibility for housekeeping in working area
Meet targets set by the company in terms of timely and accurate loading/unloading of vehicles
Ensure all handling, loading and storage of goods is carried out and maintained in a safe manner
Ensure routine checks are carried out in a timely and accurate manner
Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate mannerThis list is not exclusive - other reasonable duties and projects may be assigned from time to time.

What we are looking for in a Production Operative

Essential

Good communication skills
Good grasp of Health & Safety requirements in an Operational environment
General physical ability
Meet general competency standards set by the company and to comply with relevant ATOs
Awareness and understanding of health and safety standards applicable to machinery or mechanical handling equipment to be used
Awareness and understanding of health and safety standards applicable to working in a timber processing plant and timber storage and distribution site
Ability to carry out routine inspection (e.g daily safety checks) as required
Ability to understand, complete and maintain all documentation associated and required by the role
Ability to work as a team player within the timber processing plant and overall site operationDesirable
