Global publicly traded Chemical Manufacturer with sites in approximately 30 countries seeks Production Operators for its Chemical Manufacturing site in Cambridge.
About the role:
As a flexible and motivated team member, you will work a three-shift system, 40 hours a week, operating plant equipment and chemical processes safely and efficiently to maximize production output. The role will be required to work flexibly across both our bulk production and packaging departments, depending on where the demand is.
You will be trained to use a wide range of processing equipment, varying from planetary mixers to reaction vessels to manufacture our high-performance adhesives. Within the packaging department you will carry out a variety of packing operations using automatic and semi-automatic packing equipment to meet the high standards of quality and presentation expected by our customers.
Duties may include:
Ensure all work is carried out safely and all near misses, incidents and accidents are reported/investigated.
Operate plant machinery to manufacture and pack products following standard operating procedures and in a safe and efficient manner.
Setting up batches, checking, weighing and adding materials and physically moving batch materials where required.
Complete all related documentation accurately and provide suitable handover to on-coming shifts.
Clean vessels and packing machinery between campaigns to ensure no cross-contamination of productand/or materials to subsequent batches.
Work as part of a team to ensure targets are met whilst maintaining quality standards and maximisingefficiency.
Report plant maintenance work requirements to minimise downtime and cost.
Keep work station clean, tidy and organised in line with the 5S approach.
Identify areas for improvement and/or cost savings.
Skills and experience:
Strong numerical ability with GCSE Maths and English. Chemistry or a technical qualification isadvantageous.
Experience in a manufacturing process environment or the chemical industry is advantageous.
Excellent team worker able to adapt to changing priorities.
Computer literate
