JUNIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team working on a variety of telecoms projects across the UK and Ireland. 4site works in partnership and collaboration with our customers, to deliver high speed fibre networks across the UK and Ireland. Our business provides the management and delivery of nationwide network infrastructure to the Alt Net providers. The successful candidate will be joining a very experienced team of talented individuals with expertise across a wide variety of engineering disciplines and proven success in delivering large scale projects.

The role will be based in the Lewisham area of London.

Role and Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

?? Assist in managing the subcontractors contract obligations to ensure compliance

?? Assist in evaluating and approving subcontractor applications for payment

?? Identify variations that may be claimed from the Client and assist in preparation of claims for submission to the Client

?? Evaluate back charges from/to the Client, Employer & Subcontractors

?? Provide input into the production of:

o Monthly commercial reports

o Applications for payment to the client

o Contract claims

?? Report any commercial and contractual risks

?? Undertake additional commercial and contractual activities as required

?? Assist in the placement of subcontract orders to step down contractual terms and manage risk, including placement of ITT's and ensuring notices and payment are made on time

?? Keeping accurate relevant records

?? Assist in dealing with contractual disputes and ensuring payment notices are in place and in line with current legislation

?? Final Accounts -assist in the assessment of and timely submission of final accounts giving regular updates to the client to ensure expectations are aligned

?? Recognise potential contractual issues on site and make good records including photographs and written statements to protect our clients' interests.

?? A good understanding of building contracts terms and conditions, and their legal and operational mechanisms

?? Practical experience of turnkey construction projects

Qualifications

?? Degree/HND or HNC in Quantity Surveying or a similar commercial degree in construction

?? CSCS or SafePass certified

?? A full clean driving licence

Experience

?? Experience working with a main contractor on large scale commercial building projects/large scale civils projects preferable but not essential

?? Knowledge of telecoms network deployment preferable but not essential

?? Demonstrates good commercial and business acumen

?? Excellent written and spoken English required
