Description

The General Manager based in Cornwall is responsible for managing the overall operations and resources of the company, managing the finances and cashflow of the business, help drive sales and new business opportunities , introducing new technologies and working practices , create a continuous improvement culture that discovers new efficiency's within manufacturing and the supply chain and act as the main point of communication between the managing director and the management team. You will be an essential figure head in driving the companies ambitious but achievable growth targets, helping us move forward into new ventures , releasing new technology and discovering new markets and opportunities.

Main responsibilities but not limited to:

Work with the Managing Director to develop the organisational strategy.
Manage the operational aspects of the company and monitor the success of the company on an ongoing basis.
Lead the implementation and execution of short and long-term strategies as required.
Understand and support the R & D opportunities.
Maintain awareness of the competitive market landscape, expansion opportunities and industry developments.
Oversee regular financial reports and communicate relevant and timely financial performance information to the managing director.
Oversee manufacturing and distribution operations , introducing line efficiency's and quality improvements.
Ensure smooth integration of new technologies into regular processes.
Investigate and implement savings and improvements to the supply chain.
Oversee the internal accounting function and monitor systems and procedures to ensure that these remain robust and appropriate.
Ensure that the company maintains high social responsibility wherever it does business.
Assess the risks to the company and ensure they are recorded, monitored and minimised.
Quality Management Representative, overseeing ISO13485 and ISO14001. Work with BSI to arrange and complete annual audits.
Safeguarding lead, responsible for managing DBS across the company.
Data Protection Officer, responsible for all GDPR activities including cyber security.
Coach and inspire your management team.Profile

General Manager Qualifications , experience and knowledge:

Education: Degree , ideally related to manufacturing or business or equivalent qualification

Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience at a higher management level in a manufacturing , clinical or engineering environment.

Interpersonal skills: Form good relationships with other leaders in the company and get significant input from the company so that there is little push back regarding strategic decisions and direction.
Analytical skills:Participate in evaluating the success of the company in reaching its goals and make sure that each strategic goal is measurable.
Leadership skills: Demonstrate the leadership necessary to make the company's mission a success, including promoting the vision, providing direction, and attracting followers.
