Lifeguard (Full-Time)

Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Lifeguard on a full-time and permanent basis, to work during term-time only. The start date for this role is anticipated to be August 2021.

THE ROLE

The primary purpose of this post is to take responsibility for the safety of swimming pool users. This role will report into the Duty Managers of the School of Science and Sports Facilities. Applicants need to have an up to date National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Maintain a constant surveillance of pool users and recognise and react to signs of danger
• Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations and policies to ensure safety of pool users
• Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
• Carry out emergency rescues and treatments until medical staff arrive
• Provide a professional and friendly welcome to all users
• Promote and provide an environment that is clean, safe and comfortable for all users
• Ensure timetables sessions are set up and cleared away promptly
• Cleaning duties as required on a day to day basis to achieve the highest standards of presentation, supported by the Cleaning team
• Assist with sports equipment set ups and supervise activities
• Be familiar with the College's Health & Safety Policy and its application to all site facilities
• Any other reasonable management request.
