The primary function of this position is to provide policy support that will enable Cambridge Ahead to influence local and national decision-making, particularly focussing on implementing the recommendations within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Independent Economic Review. The Policy Officer will work across priority projects, conducting research and developing policy proposals. The Policy Officer will also support the Director to engage with CA Members and key local stakeholders to support the objectives of the organisation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Undertaking research and applying critical analysis to a variety of topics
  • Contributing policy thinking and drafting material for Cambridge Ahead project group activities
  • Developing responses to statutory consultations and submissions to Government
  • Engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to understand business and academia attitudes towards key policy agendas, and supporting Cambridge Ahead to respond
  • Supporting the wider work of the organisation through, for example, project management support
