Design Manager / Studio Manager

Location: Huddersfield with the option of flexible home working

Are you a tip-top designer or a studio manager with hands-on skills looking to grow, develop and manage a team in a thriving business? You've come to the right place. We're looking for a Design Manager to join our creative team.

You'll be responsible for the efficiency, quality and output of our design team, reviewing briefs, sizing tasks, assigning and feeding back on work, as well as line managing a team of 6+ designers.

We want someone with hands-on design skills to mentor and develop the team. We see this role as an even split between managing the team and hands-on design work, getting stuck into tasks and projects.
Our overarching goal is to sell our brand, products, and promotions to customers whilst staying true to our values and the highly commercial nature of the business.
You'll be a whizz with the Adobe Creative Suite, and any web design experience would be a bonus.

Our ideal ally is;
Required

Well-versed in the Adobe Creative Suite.
Hands-on design skills/experience.
A strong design eye and a great creative thinker.
Great time management and project skills.
Previous experience in mentoring or line-management.
Desirable

HTML & CSS knowledge.
Previous use of Mailchimp, BeePro or other email building tools.
Print design skills.
Basic copywriting for headlines and basic wording.
Knowledge of tools like analytics, optimise, and Hotjar.
Previous eCommerce and/or CRM experience.

We're looking for someone who is:

Curious: we want you to enjoy what you do and relish developing your understanding of our products and customers.
Ambitious: we think differently from most companies, which inspires us to be flexible, experiment with new ideas and become even better.
Driven: Take responsibility for your projects, deliver them to a high standard and positively engage with every person you meet.
Savvy: familiar with industry-standard design tools like Photoshop and illustrator, with a basic understanding of HTML and CSS
Collaborative: someone that is happy to help or be helped by other members of the team. We've got a close-knit team of great designers on hand to support each other
