Join the team at Pinhoe View, a new purpose-built facility in Exeter as a Practice Development Nurse, where a range of mental health services are provided for adults with acute mental health conditions across two wards and eight individual flats.
Working 37.5 hours a week, you will be responsible for overseeing the training and education programmes to support nurses and relevant support staff in delivering consistently high quality clinical care.
As a Practice Development Nurse, you will implement the induction training programmes for new staff members, oversee and support staff with mandatory training, promote CPD opportunities and work with the Lead Nurse to develop training programmes for nurses to expand their clinical skills.
You will act as the lead coordinator for student nurse placements, this will you see become the go-to person as you provide on-hand support for placements. You will lead and manage the overseas nurse programme and training for individuals identified at Pinhoe View.
With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals.
Other responsibilities
•Ensures appropriate written records of training are maintained
•Provides a source of current specialist nursing information and educational knowledge
•Facilitate the provision of regular local and relevant teaching sessions within the clinical setting
•Identifies training and development needs of staff within the clinics
•Provide mentor support for both pre-registration and post-registration nurses.
•Works with Ward Managers to ensure that standards are set for nursing practice and for care involving the multidisciplinary team
To be successful in this role, you will have:
•Experience as a Registered Nurse (RMN/RNLD) with a Minimum of 3 years post qualification
•Teaching qualification (or willing to work towards one).
•Experience in working in hospital, healthcare or customer setting
•Experience of management support
•Computer literate; Good MS Office skills especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint Presentation skills
