Overview of the role:

The purpose of the role is to apply knowledge and experience of risk management practices within Financial Services to take a lead role in enhancing the Group control framework. The job holder will be required to comply with the individual conduct rules and meet the Company's fit and proper standards, which will be assessed on a regular basis.

Overseeing the accuracy of risk registers and helping maintain their relevance.

Helping to devise, develop and track performance against risk appetite statements including targets and tolerances set by the board.

Accountability for individual performance and contribution to achieve KPI's set by the business.

Ownership of individual performance and personal development.

Attend internal Committees on behalf of Compliance as and when required.

Identify and analyse issues and emerging risks and trends. Support with root cause analysis. Provide feedback and recommendations to other colleagues on how to mitigate these risks.

Represent Risk within business-driven Group projects.

Provide constructive challenge to help ensure that risk is taken account of within the project.

Participate in or lead internal business/governance meetings and represent the Group externally as required.

Ensure that any reports required for those meetings are provided in a timely manner and are focused and relevant to the meeting topic.

Apply knowledge and experience of risk management practices within Financial Services to take a lead role in enhancing and embedding enterprise wide risk management.

Support the business in the operation, analysis, and resolution of risk events/incident management.

Coordinate the production and delivery of risk management information and relevant analysis for key stakeholders and committees.

Support the operation with Risk & Control Self Assessment. Educate the business on risk management and control.

Willingness to undergo all training requirements necessary for the post.

Ensure adherence to the FCA Individual Conduct Rules.

Ensure all statutory training requirements are met.

Take responsibility for your own development and ensuring that knowledge of risk management practices are up to date.

You will have:

Experience of working in a risk role for an FCA regulated business, or experience of consumer credit in a regulator or professional services role.

Good technical understanding of risk management and control.

Ability to write clear, accurate and concise reports.

Intermediate or advanced user of Microsoft Office software and in particular, Microsoft Word.

Experience of building relationships and managing a wide variety of stakeholders.

Ability to deliver simultaneous, time pressured tasks and prioritise effectively.

Confident and professional communicator.

Strong attention to detail.

Financial services business acumen and in particular, the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the consumer credit industry and challenges.

Ability to work independently, setting own priorities and taking a lead role; and

Honesty and integrity.

Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Accuracy and attention to detail and ability to work on own initiative
