Location: Preston

Pay Scale: Salary Range GBP30k +

Status: Permanent Hours:

39 Hours (Monday to Thursday 07:00 - 16:00 and Friday 07:00 - 12:00)

My client are one of the largest and market leading upholstery manufacturers in the UK servicing the majority of the Blue-Chip high street and premium independent retailers.

This role reports to the Operations Manager, the job holder will be responsible for:

* Develop Production Plans that meet customer requirements and are in line with production capacity.

* Produce weekly material order and production schedule for the Production Team.

* Maintains and updates bespoke ERP System with planning data.

* Responds to customer needs to defer or expedite order requests; revising the production plan/schedule (incl. materials) accordingly.

* Managing all aspects of materials flow and to maintain control and accuracy over all goods inventories through the effective use of the Company's bespoke MRP System (M1) and associated administrative systems; covering all transactions, procurement, planning, scheduling, cost, warehouse, receiving, and shipping to ensure continuous production and that customer orders are fulfilled on time.

* Developing and managing supplier relationships including negotiating prices and rebates to minimise raw material costs and ensuring ethical compliance.

The Person The successful candidate will:

* Highly numerate and analytical with strong problem-solving and organisational skills in addition to planning experience.

* Experience of using Planning &/or ERP computer systems is desirable.

* Have experience of managing the purchasing and stock control process through leading a team committed to best practice in warehouse/stores management and the effective use of an ERP System. Ideally, within the manufacturing industry.

* Have experience of both managing supplier relationship and performance, as well as playing an active part in price and rebate negotiation demonstrating a market awareness and the ability to undertake cost analysis taking into account factors such as pricing, quality, delivery timescales and supplier responsiveness.

* Be an excellent communicator to all levels both internally and externally - verbally and in writing - and have a range of interpersonal skills that enables them to quickly establish effective working relationships and gain support of others where changes are necessary.

* Possess an eye for detail, be methodical and have strong organisational and project planning skills to cope with competing demands and tight deadlines, working accurately even when under pressure.

* Be computer literate demonstrating 'Intermediate' level skills in MS Excel (ideally 'Advanced') to be able to undertake data analysis as well as being fully conversant with ERP systems to be able to suggest design changes where necessary to track the movement of materials and ensure full stock utilisation.
