A fantastic opportunity has come up to work for an international luxury student accommodation company at their European Head Office in Oxfordshire. This is a fixed term role for 6-9 months, with a potential to extend.
The role of Company Accountant is responsible for managing all of the day-to-day financial aspects of the business including 4 European subsidiaries.
This includes overseeing and developing the management accounts for each legal entity as well as managing the statutory reporting, financial planning as well as development of financial processes and controls.
The role reports directly to the Finance Director as well as supports the senior management team in achieving business targets and has support of 4 finance roles based in India reporting into the role as well as support from third party accountancy practices in each European country where present.
Key Tasks
Responsibility for preparation and submission of Consolidated Management Accounts for CRM and European subsidiaries.
Take ownership of the Statutory Reporting, including preparation of CRM's HMRC VAT returns and communications
Manage the Financial Planning process, Budgets and Forecasts within the group
Ad Hoc Project Management recent/current projects
Work in conjunction with the whole senior management team and other senior business managers to ensure initiatives are implemented in a coherent and efficient manner and ensures that standards are continually raised and met across the business.
Improve the client experience through enhanced Client reporting of financial and other management information
Review the current procedures and where appropriate identify and implement improvements
Contribute to the business strategy programme as the business goes through a period of significant growth (service development, process and cost improvements, performance reviews, improved client reporting/MI)Knowledge and Skills
Educated to minimum ACCA/CIMA/ACA Qualified/ finalist. QBE will be considered.
Industry experience of management accountant role is preferable.
Experience of cash flow reporting required for the role
High levels of organisation and ability to prioritise workload in order to deal with flexible nature of role and business
Strong knowledge of management accounting, VAT and experience of producing month end accounts packs, and budgeting are required
Attention to detail and accuracy are vital in the role due to the complexities
Ability to work from incomplete records
