A Payroll Officer is currently required to join a local well-established organisation who work closely with many local people and organisations to provide a quality service in the local community. Our client is currently seeking a Payroll Officer to join the team as soon as possible. The ideal Payroll Officer will have knowledge and experience of a busy payroll environment and be keen to develop their skills and knowledge.
As the Payroll Officer you will report directly to the Finance Manager who works closely with the senior Management team. You will work closely with all departments within the organisation and must be confident at dealing with complex payroll.
As the Payroll Officer you will be responsible for:
* Management of a complex monthly payroll for multiple companies for over 400 staff
* Preparation and submission of real time information to HMRC
* Start to finish complex payroll including zero hours contracts and salaried employees
* Processing monthly employee expenses
* Dealing with employee pay queries
* Producing & submitting of payroll files to the bank in a timely & efficient manner
* Administration & knowledge of the Auto Enrolment Pension Scheme
* Shared maintenance (with HR) of employee files & sickness records
* Supply information to support HR
* Effectively deal with an annual payroll audit
* Ensure all data and records are maintained in accordance with GDPR
As the Payroll Officer you will be:
* Strong Sage Payroll and excel experience
* Accurate with an ability to prioritise/multitask
* Strong communication skills
* At least 2 years working within a payroll position
* Ability to work to tight deadlines
* Have good attention to detail and confidence to present details to management team
* Experience working within a small finance team
* Be commercially driven and aware, dynamic, forward-thinking, and aware of other departments within the business
