To support our recent growth and development, we are looking for a Safety & Environmental Co-ordinator for our Head Office. Reporting to our Head of Facilities Management, you will be responsible for Planning, Coordinating, Monitoring and Reporting on all Safety & Environmental Activity across the CareCo Estate at all locations. Our brand new head office, which is currently being built, will be based in Braintree area so we'll be looking for someone keen to move there in a year from now.
Main Tasks:
- Engage with all stakeholders and embed a positive Safety & Environmental Culture with demonstrable benefits.
- Implement and coordinate the Health & Safety Plan, Do, Check, Act system INDG275(As revised).
- Write, Review, and Assess Risk Assessments.
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 accreditation.
- Carry out H&S audits and produce Action Plans to ensure Compliance to 'As Reasonably Practicable'.
- Ensure Company Health, Safety & Environmental procedures are always implemented and complied with.
- Be the Point of Contact (PoC) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Safety & Environmental Compliance.
- Compile and Report on all Safety & Environmental Statistics such as Accidents, Near Misses, Accident Frequency Rates (AFR's) and Environmental Performance Information.
- Investigate all Accidents and Near Misses to identify Root Cause(s) and provide Reports to eliminate or reduce future Risk to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
- Promote the benefits of Safety & Environmental Management to Employees, Contractors & Visitors.
- Hold Briefing Sessions / Toolbox Talks and Inductions to Educate & Inform Employees, Contractors & Visitors.
- Monitor requests including the Coordination and Investigation of, Requests, Complaints and Faults.
- Create Process Maps and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for Safety & Environmental Compliance highlighting Opportunities for Service Development and Continuous Improvement.
- Be the Interface between employees and various Service Providers / Contractors.
- Assist with all Hard & Soft Facilities Management services.
- Support & Deputise for the Head of Facilities Management.
Experience and qualifications required:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (including Maths & English grade C or above).
- Computer literate intermediate or advanced in Microsoft Office 365 packages.
- Hold a driving licence suitable for use in the UK.
- Proven track record of working within a busy customer focused organisation.
- Experience in providing support on FM and/or Maintenance services.
- Qualified IOSH / NEBOSH - Minimum of Managing Safely.
- Qualified NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management. (optionnal)
