GPS are recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to improve the performance of site production by supporting Quality manager. Your role will be to support the Quality Manager to analyse and improve current technologies, production processes and implement new technologies and production processes in order to ensure the long term competitiveness of the Site production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with all Safety, Health & Environmental procedures
* Develop current Quality systems and install new systems as required.
* Develop current ISO 9001 systems and train employees on system requirements
* Develop current ISO 14001 systems and train employees on system requirements
* Drive initiatives to reduce scrap within the business
* Control of non-conforming product
* Conduct full line audits and support employees to find root cause of any short falls with regards quality
* Support and train user on SAP to ensure accurate recording of information
* Reporting on trends within quality (Non-conformance / IRR / Eddy Current)
* Training, assessment and auditing of inspection activities
* Control and Review of Control Plans and FMEA's
* Implement correction action plans to maintain compliance to the systems
* Define, defend, organize and supervise process improvement projects.
* Define the optimal production set-up, according HSE and technical Group.
* Follow up the production performance and identify opportunities to improve competitiveness.
Key Skills and Qualities
* Ideally Degree in Metallurgy/Materials or relevant discipline
* Experienced proactive Quality professional having worked within manufacturing.
* Experience of ISO9001/14001:2015 standards, with lead auditor certificate. Working Knowledge of SAP
* Strong analytical skills
* Competent in Microsoft Office applications
* The ability to recognise training needs and recommend development strategies
* Willingness to develop and promote continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility
Salary circa 30K (Neg on experience)
