This role will be based in Redhill.

We have world leading technology in Ground Penetrating Radar and RF interference mitigation. Both military and civil users rely on our direction finding systems for search and rescue operations. We develop and manufacture high specification sector and multi-sector, directional, omni-directional, ultra-wideband (UWB) and MIMO antennas.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated team player to join Chelton's land division based in Redhill. This role would suit someone with a strong electrical problem solving background that enjoys varied work where every day is different. You will need to be computer literate, adaptable, self-motivated and willing to work on your own as well as part of a team.

As part of their responsibilities, our technicians work closely with test engineers and design authorities across a number of projects to carry out build and testing of new and innovative technology. This includes participating in trials and demonstrations in front of customers

As a Technician your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

* Capable of modifying complex circuit boards to IPC standards

* Capable of making cables to IPC standards

* Will be entrusted with quality inspection approvals

* Can manage the local allocation of resources (i.e. allocate resources to tasks and de-conflict at the IPT level) - long term goal

* Capable of completing mine detector repairs in accordance with customer commitments

* Capable of running the mine detection equipment release testing

* Capable of writing/updating release testing for mine detection equipment release testing

* Carrying out testing to a high standard, ensuring work is fully documented

* Write detailed accurate test reports

* Responsible for operating and maintaining the scanning frame (automated mine detection equipment).

* Manage test facilities for use across multiple projects

* Capable of supporting the intercoms PDA in responding to tech queries and proposals.

* Define and plan technical requirements/scope of work with engineering, design staff and drawing office.

* Build and construction of prototype electronic sub -systems to IPC 610.

* Support and repair of products

* Maintain technical information on materials and manufacturing processes (manufacturing history records and work instruct sheets) as required.

* Support internal and external field trials/demonstrations.

* repair, testing and calibration of hand help detectors

As a Technician your key responsibilities will include:

* Good working knowledge of technical and electrical drawings

* Experience of operating remote controlled vehicles and drones - Desirable

* relevant experience in electronics

* Knowledge of IPC610 working practices

* Experience of using test software (e.g. LabVIEW)

* Knowledge of reading, writing and processing test reports

* Full UK driving licence required
