The Role-

We have a temporary placement opportunity available for a Booking and Scheduling Clerk at Rochdale Infirmary.
To work as part of the Booking Office team providing an efficient and high quality imaging service. This will include dealing with telephone enquiries and other general office duties in an efficient manner.
* To receive calls on the GP referral phone line to book patients into plain film x-ray appointments.
* To use and access the CRIS system on a regular basis with responsibility for accurate collection and recording of data ensuring that the appropriate documentation is produced, i.e. printing patient identification labels, performing any associated duties required to accept the patient onto the CRIS system.
* To communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and relatives in a caring and professional manner.
* Access the Patient Administration System when required to accurately record and collect patient data, ensuring any errors are clearly identified and corrected including patient demographics.
* To work together with the Central Bookings Office to ensure all urgent requests are inputted onto the CRIS system.
* To act as a point of contact for emergency referrers into Radiology and ensure emergency referrals are appointed as necessary onto the CRIS system, working with central bookings as/if required to facilitate this.
* To be responsible for sorting internal and external mail and distributing appropriately.
* To deal with telephone enquiries and other general office duties.
* To follow agreed guidelines for the booking of Interpreter Services and patient transport services if and when requested to do so.
