Support Workers

Kinson / Bournemouth

Full time / Part time / Relief

Driving Licence Is Essential

We are recruiting a new staff team and therefore full time, part time, waking night and weekend only working will be considered. There will be an expectation of the role to undertake a maximum of 2-3 sleep ins per week.

We are looking for people who share our values and can support someone to have the life they want to live.

We have an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team to support an 18 year old female with a diagnosis of a Learning Disability and Autism who can experience associated sensory difficulties to start her journey in her new home.

She is great fun to be with and builds really strong bonds with her support workers. She loves to be active, enjoys swimming, trampolining and going out walking, visiting cafes, shops and enjoys going on car drives.

This young lady loves all things Disney; you will inherit a Disney character name! She also enjoys fashion, makeup and pampering - be prepared for a makeover! She enjoys being creative with photography, sticker books, cutting and sticking and using IT.

She has a real passion for baking and food in general, which we need to encourage her with and to try new things and learn cookery skills, but we also need to encourage healthy eating and exercise where possible.

She doesn't always sleep well which means some days will need to be quieter and all plans go out the window! Instead she will need some downtime to chill out on her iPad, doing favoured activities or watching her favourite YouTube videos.

If you are an active, well-motivated person who enjoys a new challenge then this could be the career for you. We are looking for individuals who share the same interests, have a fun outlook on life and can think outside the box.

You will receive extensive training including training in physical intervention to ensure you are equipped in understanding the correct ways to respond, cope and react to difficult situations, full induction to Dimensions and support with completion of the Care Certificate to enable you to fulfil the role and enhance your personal development.

Shortlisting will be conducted on receipt of applications and interviews arranged and conducted until the vacant positions have been filled.

Dimensions are one of the country's largest not-for-profit organisations supporting people with learning difficulties, autism, challenging behaviour and complex needs and we are driven by our values. People with learning disabilities and their families are at the heart of everything we do.

In response to the unprecedented events we are currently experiencing due to the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19, at this time we will be conducting our interviews via video calls

Dimensions is proud to be one of very few social care organisations that are members of the Great Places To Work programme 2019, 2020 & 2021.
