Our Local Authority client has a 3 Month CONTRACT vacancy (with a possibility of an extension) for a REGULATORY SERVICES OFFICER, details as follows

Job Purpose
As part of a pool of Regulatory Services officers, carry out a professional advisory, assessment/inspection and enforcement role in order to ensure the highest quality of service delivery and the maintenance of relevant competencies and professional standards.

Liaise and cooperate with others to embrace and successfully deliver a flexible, joined-up, approach to service delivery across Regulatory Services and the organisation.

Responsibilities

Patrol work to encourage compliance, assist businesses and members of the public and where necessary investigate potential coronavirus breaches and evidence capture utilising recording body-cams.

Draft and prepare Coronavirus Notices where applicable.

To provide support, education, compliance visits to businesses and members of the public to ensure an effective coronavirus measures are in place to limit infection spread.

To undertake patrol work across the organisation - this will also include weekend working and some evening work where required.

To investigate and evidence capture potential breaches of the Coronavirus Legislation. This could include working with Partner Agencies.

To provide investigation support to the Outbreak Hub; ensuring members of the public are self-isolating where legally required to do so.

To assist with other covid-19 project work which could include:

Encouraging/ promoting vaccination in hotspot areas.
Patrolling hotspot areas to ensure a robust and effective compliance programme is in place across the organisation.
Ensure businesses are following all coronavirus guidelines to mitigate risk of infection.
Attending Covid hot spot areas to improve intelligence position and to educate businesses and members of public to ensure infection rates remain under control.
Attend partner agency meetings to share information and intelligence.

Essential Requirements

5 GCSE's, including English and Maths, minimum grade C or 4, or equivalent.
Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health or equivalent qualifications.
Previous and recent enforcement experience.
Evidence of relevant professional competence.
Be able to demonstrate experience in the work area of health and safety or other environmental health functions.
Up to date working knowledge of legislation and Codes of Practice.
Experience of working in the public sector (Desirable)
