The Trustees of the St Philip's Centre wish to appoint a new Chair. The Chair leads the Board of Trustees in overseeing the work of the Centre - which is an ecumenical Christian charity, to promote excellent inter faith relations and understanding. The Trustees are looking for an individual with proven track record of charitable governance experience and an interest in interfaith engagement from a personal Christian commitment.

The primary aim of the Centre is to equip Christians and people of other faiths and beliefs to live and work constructively and co-operatively in a multi faith society. It achieves this through the provision of a wide range of courses and events. Leading the way for this work in the country, the Centre has a growing regional, national and international reputation and works with a wide range of partners. These include faith-based bodies, central and local government and other statutory, charitable and voluntary organizations. It also works closely with the Diocese of Leicester, the Bishop of Leicester and ecumenical partners. The appointment of the new Chair will be made by the Trustees, with the participation of the Bishop of Leicester and in consultation with other faith leaders. It is for a three year term (with a maximum of 2 terms). Travel and other working expenses are paid. Most meetings are in Leicester.

The closing date for submission of expressions of interest accompanied by a full CV and the names of two referees is Monday 12 th July 2021. They should be addressed to the Acting Chair at SPC -

Short listing will take place on 22 nd July 2021. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on Tuesday 17 th August. The successful candidate will assume responsibilities at the Trustees Meeting of 16 th November 2021.
