Platform Resourcing are currently working in partnership with a leading manufacturing/engineering business based in the Pontypool area They are a leading manufacturer within their field and are in the process of recruiting for a General Labourer ideally who hold an FLT license to join their team on initially a 6 week rolling contract. This role will involve general moving of stock on the shop floor using the Counterbalance and Manual Handling.
This will also involve some inspection work. The suitable candidate will ideally have a background of working within similar environments within a Manufacturing environment, from either a Engineering, Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Device or another related sector.
Candidates with general manufacturing quality experience will also be considered.
Salary and Benefits Package
* GBP9.00 per hour
* 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
* Contributory Pension Scheme
* On-site Parking
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 7am - 3pm
They have a low turnover due to the working environment and business culture. The successful candidate will be responsibility to ensure all manufactured products provides a high level of quality that meets customer expectation.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Responsible for inspection of specific metal parts
* Tests include simple visual inspections on batch products
* Quality check on specific metal parts
* Suggestions for improvement
* Assist with and prepare simple reports to confirm number of checked parts.
* Manual handling of large fabricated metal parts
* Able to highlight any quality issues to management in a timely manner
* Health and Safety awareness due to the nature of the work and the environment
* Movement of heavy stock using counterbalance FLT
* Movement of heavy stock using overhead gantry crane
* General labouring work throughout the facility
* Any other reasonable tasks assigned by your manager
Skills, Attributes & Qualifications:
* RITTB Counterbalance Valid License Holder- (Preferable)
* Overhead Gantry Crane Valid License Holder - (Preferable)
* Physically fit - Due to the nature of the work - Lifting and Carrying (Essential)
* Experience of working within a similar environment
* Excellent problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to think logically and methodically
* Good interpersonal skills and organisational skills
* Excellent verbal communication skills
* Decision making ability coupled with the ability to work independently and proactively
