Due to growth, a fantastic opportunity has become available for a data architect to join a highly regarded business. You will be responsible for building, optimizing and maintaining conceptual and logical database models. A focus will be to rebuild and restructure existing databases, enhancing data quality and flexibility to facilitate the creation of new products (e.g. APIs) in addition to improving existing products.
You will be working in a company that really values their staff in an excellent working environment. This is initially a 12 month FTC but could be made permanent.
The Role
Developing database solutions to store and retrieve company information whilst futureproofing to facilitate the implementation of new solutions (e.g. APIs)
Installing and configuring information systems to ensure functionality
Analysing structural requirements for new software and applications
Develop database solutions to store and retrieve company information
Install and configure information systems to ensure functionality
Analyse structural requirements for new software and applications
Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions
Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts
Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new elements
Optimize new and current database systems
Define security and backup procedures
Coordinate with the IT and Research and Data teams to identify future needs and requirements
Provide operational support for Management Information Systems (MIS)
The candidate
Proven work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or similar role
In-depth understanding of the principles of database structures
Experience gathering and analysing system requirements
Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques
Data analysis, Entity modelling and Normalisation
Expertise in T-SQL
Proficiency in MS Excel
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, D3.js and R)
Proven analytical skills
Problem-solving attitude
A UK degree in Computer Science or relevant field is preferable
