Harris Pye are currently looking for a HR Manager to join our site in Newport (NP20) on an 18 month fixed term contract. The project is building a new Energy from Waste Plant.
Job Purpose:
Provide a focal point for any and all Human Resources related functions for the Newport Energy tor Waste site.
Key Accountabilities:
* Manage the day-to-day generalist HR activity at site.
* Implement new processes to strengthen the HR function
* Provide regulatory compliance for all UK employment matters
* Advise directors and senior management of relevant changes in UK employment law including any and all new legislation
* Manage employee relations
* Manage and co-ordinate general HR enquiries from employees
* Oversee recruitment processes and procedures within the UK operation including holiday, sickness and disciplinary matters
* Maintain and progress working relationships with all site employees and group offices/stations
* Ensure all HR files are maintained and up-to-date
* Actively promote HR policies and procedures within the UK operation
* Appraisals and performance management
* Management of the training function in partnership with the HSE Manager.
* Regulatory compliance for all UK employment matters
* Management of labour allocation and technical resource
* Manage the Intra-Company visa portal, allocation and administration
* Manage the transfer of employees from other Harris Pye international branches into the UK.
* Liaise with trade unions (when required)
Key Skills:
* Accomplished HR generalist with a minimum of 5 years' experience
* Must have excellent knowledge of UK employment law
* CIPD Level 5 essential
* Experience of managing a complex ER caseload
* A good understanding of visas under the new immigration rules.
* Experience within an engineering environment preferred
* Excellent management skills and ability to communicate at all levels essential
* Excellent communication skills written and oral.
* Ability to work Independently and to a deadline.
* Knowledge of the business.
* Ability to manage workload efficiently (multi-task).
* Computer literate and able to use and learn new systems quickly.
* Ability to Communicate with managers and co-workers
Working Hours:
Monday-Friday. 40 hours a week.
Start Date:
ASAP
Rate:
Negotiable depending on experience.
Holidays:
25 days + 8 bank holidays
