Welfare Benefits Officer
Newham
GBP12+ per hour
Full Time Contract
Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Welfare Benefits Officer based in Newham. This role is a temporary position, contracted for 3 months working full time hours.
This position will require someone that has a vast knowledge and proven experience in welfare benefits. They will need to be able to make new claims, update claims and complete mandatory considerations. They should also be able to maximise service users' income by identifying potential welfare benefit matters be able to work directly with and refer applications to the Department of Works and Pension on welfare benefit issues for individual service users.
In addition they should possess good IT skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and be able to learn new databases. This role deals with vulnerable adults so the candidate must also hold a current DBS check. We are looking for a candidate with operational knowledge of welfare benefit legislation, and experience working within an Adult Social Care environment with vulnerable people or Welfare Benefit advice setting.
