Commercial Officer
Would you like to be a part of a growing team? We are currently looking to recruit Commercial Officer's to join our key Commercial teams at our Electronic Systems site in Rochester.
As a Commercial Officer you will be joining one of our dynamic commercial teams that support the delivery of transformative technology across a diverse global portfolio of military and commercial customers.
The Commercial function is the trusted partner of the business; managing customer relationships, negotiating deals, creating innovative solutions, and providing guidance on contractual, legal, regulatory and governance matters.

Your main responsibilities as a Commercial Officer will involve:
Taking a leading role in the generation of routine quotations
Acting as the primary interface with our global civil airline & their agents, customer base
Participating in customer negotiations and facilitating successful contract delivery in line with established policies and requirements. Interpreting and communicating customer requirements
Understanding the structure of a contract and identifying and communicating contractual risks and opportunities
Acting as the primary interface with our global civil airline & their agents, customer base
Supporting a team of Customer Service Manager's in preparing quotations to Customers and pursuing the resultant order intake
Liaising with the Finance department to manage the order book and assisting in credit control issues
Guiding other Commercial staff in the team with complex customer issues
Contract administration activities to support critical customer deadlines
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Previous contract administration experience within a fast paced / high volume environment
Experience gained within a transactional role (loading orders ERP / Oracle systems, raising internal sales orders, processing invoicing and cash collection)
Able to interpret and communicate customer requirements and / or contract terms
Awareness of basic business acumen
Understanding of project scope and experience of negotiating changes within a contract
Ability to follow internal governance - policy and process
Desirable:
Awareness / understanding of the aspects of the Law that affect the activities of the business
Familiar with typical internal governance requirements
Understand a variety of contract/agreement types such as Non-Disclosure Agreements and Product Support Agreements
Knowledge / understanding of project scope and experience of negotiating changes within a contract
Experience / knowledge of international contracting and awareness of international contracting considerations such as tax liability and international delivery terms.
Experience gained within in the Aerospace or comparable industry (e.g. Defence, Space, Rail, Energy, IT)
