STFC (part of UK Research and Innovation) are seeking a Linux Systems Developer/Administrator to lead delivery on exciting projects ranging from R&D and proof of technology to the development of robust commercial solutions.
You will be supporting UK industry and academia in realising the benefits of several technologies from Trusted Computing to Machine Learning. You will also be responsible for supporting the translation of designs into reality, creating functional systems to support the activities of the Hartee Centre. You will be excited by the opportunity to develop novel technology solutions to real world problems, working with industry and technology partners from a range of sectors and disciplines to deliver successful solutions. As this role will be working on projects with international collaborations, it is likely to involve the opportunity for travel to both Europe and the USA.
As a Linux System Developer or Systems Administrator working at STFC, you will be working at our site based in Daresbury and engaging with various stakeholders across UK and internationally. To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Demonstratable experience working with Linux and deploying Linux based clusters
- Demonstrable experience in Scripting in Bash/Perl/Python or equivalent
- Ability to identify, adapt and integrate ideas, methods and solutions from other environments
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise written documents
- Ability to work in a multifunctional team
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
