The Opportunity

Just Eat is looking to hire a Quality Engineer for a team building machine learning driven features which help our customers to find dishes they'll love. You will be working in a data-driven environment as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will work closely with our data scientists, product manager, analyst and engineers to underpin the reliability of our customer-facing features. In the morning you might be designing and building a new test suite for a machine learning api. In the afternoon you might be working with the team on a new experiment roll-out, digging in to the data and quality assuring the new functionality.

You will be a self-starter with an interest in data, experimentation and machine learning., able to work with uncertainty and evolving requirements as we adapt and change to new insights and data, You don't need prior experience of working with machine learning, but you will be someone who's able to work closely with others and under your own initiative to collaborate, learn and solve problems.

Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for...

• Testing and Quality Strategy Ownership - you will own, define and put into practice our team approach to quality assurance and testing, in collaboration with the team

• Data-driven - in collaboration with the engineering team, work with the wealth of data and statistics available to make it easy to validate the performance and quality of our features

• Continuous improvement - improve the team's effectiveness by proposing and implementing new processes, designs and engineering practices

• Product Definition - contribute to the definition of product features, championing our approach to quality and testing early on

• Operating - take responsibility for deploying and supporting their changes all the way through to prove that they work well - and continue to work well - in production

• Communicate - transparently communicate on your progress and discuss ideas with your team and Technology Manager. Share new practices, patterns and standards with the team

Required skills and experience

Your Profile & Experience

• C# or Python

• TDD, feature testing, load testing, performance testing

• Experience working with data (eg. BigQuery)

• Experience working with Cloud Services (Amazon Web Services or similar e.g Azure, Google Cloud)

• Able to take in information on experiment results and basic data science concepts and put that information to practical use (we're not talking formal qualifications here, but statistically or mathematically mindedness)

• Experience working in a Continuous Delivery cycle

You'll have an advantage if you have experience of...

• Machine learning, experimentation, big data or anything in this space

• Working in microservices and event-driven architecture

• Working within an e-commerce business where reliability is critical

• Experience with data pipelines
