Pharmacy/Dispensing Assistant
Part-time (possibly full-time later) vacancy shortly to arise for a Pharmacy/Dispensing assistant in Withnell Pharmacy, in the rural village of Withnell, Lancs.
Initially the Pharmacy/Dispensing assistant role is a 27 hours/week with alternate Saturday mornings. Some flexibility in the Pharmacy/Dispensing assistant role will be essential to support the business during hols, sick absence etc
The Pharmacy/Dispensing assistant role includes;
?? Assisting with all dispensary operations, including prescription processing, dispensing, patient and surgery communications, stock management and housekeeping
?? Assisting with pharmacy OTC operations, including counselling and advising customers about their symptoms, till operations, stock management and housekeeping
Once trained, the Pharmacy/Dispensing assistant role incorporates but is not limited to the following;
?? Dispense prescription drugs and other healthcare items under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and/or an ACT.
?? Handle clerical duties - answering 'phones, placing orders, till operations
?? Respond to patients'/customers' enquiries about medicines/services
?? Collect, handle and evaluate patients' medical information in a strictly confidential manner
?? Liaise with GP surgeries/hospitals about patients and medications
?? Comply with all pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures and regulations.
?? Raise and handle medicine stock orders
?? Assist with pharmacy OTC operations, including counselling and advising customers about their symptoms, till operations, stock management and housekeeping
Desired candidate profile for the Pharmacy/Dispensing assistant role
?? Team player, good interpersonal skills, good relations with colleagues
?? Customer/patient-orientated

?? Computer/IT experience

Applicants with pharmacy experience will be preferred for the Pharmacy/Dispensing assistant role, but this is not essential as full training will be provided if necessary.
Salary offered for the Pharmacy/Dispensing assistant will be according to age, experience and qualifications
