About the role
GreenSquareAccord are currently recruiting in Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Support Service (GDASS) for a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Support Officer on a full time, permanent basis. This role will be based within the GDASS MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) team.
You will be co-located with Police, Children’s Social Care, Adults Social Care, Health, CGL, Education and Early Help at Shire Hall. The MASH enables statutory and support agencies to offer the right interventions at the right time.
You will improve the visibility of families impacted by domestic abuse within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). You will work with partner agencies and to support them to understand the dynamics of domestic abuse and to understand the impact of domestic abuse on whole families.
You, as the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Support Officer, will improve the response to families impacted by domestic abuse by the multi-agency partners within the MASH.
Within this post, you will provide appropriate research around GDASS clients and involvement to Children’s Social Care; and offer guidance to professionals in the MASH around risk, safety planning and next steps available for families impacted by domestic abuse.
You will provide immediate telephone support to people experiencing domestic abuse where an existing referral to GDASS is not in place and conduct joint visits with Children’s Social Care / Police to people experiencing domestic abuse when required.

About you
You must have GCSE’s A-C in Maths & English and the ability to use email, Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems.
It is essential that you have experience of working with victims of domestic abuse and experience of working directly with customers in a challenging or potentially challenging environment.
You should have knowledge of relevant theories relating to PTSD, Trauma and domestic abuse recovery. It is important that you have the understanding and knowledge of domestic abuse and impacts on children and a sound understanding of safeguarding children procedures.
