Data Engineer

Would you like to take your career to the next step? Are you ready for a new challenge? We're currently looking for Data Engineer's at our sites in Preston, Glascoed or Farnborough.

The Data & Analytics Hub have an opportunity for you to help shape the future of the data service, both in how we operate as a team and as to the technology that we utilise.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to play an integral role in enabling us to provide enterprise wide insights that are both operational and strategic and impact across all levels of the business. You will also have the opportunity to grow and develop your own skills within the working environment and through access to a variety of training.

Your main responsibilities as a Data Engineer will involve:

Supporting ETL development and monitoring of data loads
Maintaining ETL solutions and identifying improvements
Conducting peer code reviews and UAT validation
Adhering to company source control, validation and promotion policy
Working within change control environment
Writing technical documentation

Your skills and qualifications as a Data Engineer

Required skills and qualifications:

Working knowledge of T-SQL with experience using SQL Server Management Studio
Experience of SSRS/SSIS
Appreciation of data warehousing architecture techniquesDesired Skills and qualifications:

Understanding of Normalisation
Knowledge of PowerShell
Data models and techniques

You will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual that has a can-do attitude. You will be able to manage conflicting and changing priorities whilst meeting deadlines. You will be a proactive individual with strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical members of the team.
