Position: Fibre Supervisor

About the Role
Our client is focused on the design, build and maintenance of telecom infrastructure for key clients in the fixed telecom market. Working collaboratively with their clients, our client brings commitment, innovation, teamwork and accountability to deliver long- term partnerships.
They are a part of the Telecom Division of their group. We deliver a range of essential infrastructure services to the utilities, transport, data and telecom sectors across the UK and Ireland.
We are looking for a Fibre Supervisor to be part of our Fibre Cities Team covering the essex region.
What will you be doing?
Your role will be to work as part of our delivery team who are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of our FTTP (fibre to the premise) build programme. The successful candidate would need to be from a strong flex / fibre background and have experience on the Openreach network.
What will your key responsibilities be?
* Overseeing flex and civils operational teams
* Carrying out initial site surveys
* Problem solving and providing alternative solutions out in the field.
* Ensuring job packs are correct.
* Liaising with local authorities to discuss works and ensure all correct permits are in place.
* Scheduling works for our fibre delivery teams including splicers and testers.
* Supporting the day-to-day operations
* Briefing operatives on RAMS and daily tasks to be completed
* Working with the project team to plan all works effectively.
* Meeting with the client to build a solid working relationship.
* Supporting our project Manager to ensure technical problems are resolved quickly in the field.
* Attending site meetings with the customer and local authorities as required
* Conduction Health & Safety quality audits and managing all aspects of Health & safety on site.
What competencies are we looking for?
* Understanding of Openreach FTTP network build.
* S11 Accreditation (this can be provided to the right candidate)
* Previous experience of utility and highways works.
* Proven experience in FTTP build including fibre cable installation, splicing and testing.
* Minimum of 2 years relevant experience at middle management in the Telecoms industry
* Hold a minimum of NRSWA Supervisors - excavation, reinstatement, SLG.
* SSSTS or SMSTS would be beneficial.
* The ability to produce in depth reports.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* Competent in the use of all Microsoft products
* Strategic thinker and problem solver to ensure quick resolutions.
* Previous experience in managing sub-contract resource.
