Web Developer (PHP) - Wareham with Remote Working Options - Up to GBP30k

My client is a vibrant and growing technology company based in Wareham, Dorset in the United Kingdom. They offer services in all areas of technology including Admissions, Retail, Hospitality, Digital Signage, Web and Mobile.

Due to sustained growth they are looking to expand their web development team. Their web platforms run on a well developed in-house PHP frameworks. In more recent projects they have integrated VueJS and Laravel to create single page applications to produce web applications with a greater user experience.

Their software suite is used by customers across the globe, from the United States to New Zealand, with users on all five continents. With this geographically diverse customer base, their staff often have the chance to travel to assist customers on location with compensation for time spent away. Whilst in the office, they have a relaxed work environment, regular social events and other life style perks.

What you'll need to succeed

Required Skills

• Demonstrable understanding and ability in PHP.
• Demonstrable knowledge of HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.
• A solid understanding of Object Oriented programming and web deployment life cycles.
• Knowledge of SQL in web technologies, preferably in MySQL.
• Problem solving skills with desire to improve and learn new technologies when required.
• Good time management and ability to work to deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with ability to work both independently and in a team.
• At least 2 years experience in commercial web development.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working with APIs and XML/JSON data structures.
• Experience working with Laravel or Symfony.
• Experience in webpack and SCSS/JS preprocessing workflows.
• Knowledge of version control concepts ie GIT.
• Experience working with E-commerce platforms or online payment service providers.
• Up-to-date on current and upcoming web technology trends.
