Durham Professional Services is looking to recruit a Learning Management Solutions Engineer for a permanent position to work with our client in Central Glasgow. This role will be predominantly WFH, but there will be occasional travel to and from the office as required once covid safe. This role will suit someone hungry to learn all they can about Learning Management Solutions and be able to really get to grips with the product and be able to support the business with all they are learning. The role requires someone with good experience of working in the learning technology space, with experience of LMS administration and an understanding of learning content development. We are looking for someone who is able to work autonomously, prioritise their workload, take ownership for tasks and provide excellent customer service to our internal and external stakeholders. The role is extremely varied and will involve a mixture of project work alongside supporting BAU processes, with plenty of opportunity to develop new skills.
  • Technical background with significant previous experience in working with SCORM, XML, LTI, IMS Open Badges Standard and JSON. Ideally some experience of scheduling using CRON jobs
  • Significant experience of working with Learning Management Solutions both from a content and administration perspective
  • Good understanding of Identity Access Management technologies, including Open Connect (OIDC) and SAML
  • Experience of working in a DevOps type environment
  • Experience in working with cloud enabled technologies, ideally hosted in the MS Azure cloud would be beneficial
  • Experience in data extraction and manipulation to support reporting. Ideally, both in directly extracting from Databases using JDBC/ODBC and via API technologies, such as REST API. A good understanding of the impacts of GDPR on data management
  • Strong understanding of quality standards, including version control and release management
  • Experience of delivering learning content using mobile technologies
  • It would be desirable to have some experience of E-commerce solutions, such as Shopify.
  • Good documentation skills to ensure a full set of configuration and operational procedures exists and are maintained at all times.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision - strong multi-tasking and prioritisation skills to ensure service levels are met
  • Good communicator that's able to work well as part of a team.
