Hays Social Care are looking for an experienced Support Worker to work with children.

Hays Social care are currently recruiting on a temp basis for residential Support Workers to work with a valued children's organisation in Stroud and Cheltenham.

Your new company
The provider we work with service Children in residential settings with needs such as challenging behaviour and LD. They are fantastic, they truly put the service users at the heart of what they do and therefore are looking for like-minded people to join the team.

Your new role
The role involves engaging with young people to promote self-worth, education and community involvement. You will be responsible for encouraging day to day tasks, taking the young people to school, activities and visits where required. You will be managing behavioural issues and administering medication when required. You will be conducting risk assessments and update support plans. You will be expected to work shift patterns as required.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have previous experience working with children and young people within a residential setting or experience working with challenging behaviour. If you have transferable skills working with adults with complex needs, autism you will also be considered. You must hold a L3 in children and young people or be willing to work towards this. Holding a full driving license is desirable.
