Currently recruiting a new role for a Group Accountant based within easy reach of both Cambridge and Hertfordshire boarders.

This fast-growing international business has with a very strong reputation for both innovation and customer care and loyalty. The Group Accountant will report directly to the Group Financial Controller and offers an excellent opportunity for someone moving straight out of practice at Audit Manager level or is a 2nd mover within industry.

This role will help the business develop in a way that will allow it to grow its profit sustainably via organic growth and non-organic projects and ventures, while maintaining effective financial control. The Group Accountant will have significant responsibility within the Group for the quality and efficiency of core finance processes and for the quality of its financial reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

Play a key role in helping this business move to an on time every time no surprises routine of high quality reporting;
Play a key role in and role model good practice in continuous improvement of financial/ business processes.
Be main point of contact for group year-end close process, including preparation of annual statutory accounts and liaison with auditors and remote subsidiaries / associates
Contribute to production of monthly consolidated management accounts, ensuring numbers are accurate and comply with group policies and FRS102 such that year-end adjustments are kept to a minimum;
Manage year end processes.
Contribute to production of annual budget and quarterly forecasts;
Become a lead user of the ERP system and Identify and implement system enhancements.
Corporate tax compliance, including liaison with the Group's tax advisors
Contribute to design and implementation of group-wide controls improvements and internal balance sheet review programmes;
Provide technical accounting expertise and support;You will be ACA/ACCA qualified with ideally at least 3 years PQE. Very strong technical capabilities including Financial reporting and consolidation, Tax and FX. Would suit someone looking to make their first move from practice, ideally from within the Big 4. Continuous Improvement mindset - drives change and demonstrates an understanding of the role of Finance within the organisation.
