Candidate's required/essential experience

  • Agile coaching experience & strong training facilitation skills
  • Scrum master qualification will be preferred
  • Experience with DevOps
  • Experience on large programmes
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by Agile teams

Experienced Agile PM or Agile Delivery Lead that has a strong track record in managing and delivering across digital projects. Someone with Product Owner background that can work with a multidisciplinary team and deliver across products will be an ideal candidate.

The candidate should have a strong background in delivering using cloud-based technologies including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft DevOps (VSTS) and Agile delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process, prioritisation of work that needs to be done against the product roadmap and capacity of the team
  • Own the cross-products capacity planning and work allocation optimisation
  • Identify risks and issues, assessing and recognising criticalities and contingencies
  • Ensure the product team adheres to agile principles and actively try to identify areas of improvement and methods on how to be more efficient
  • Contribute and drive improvements in the agile tooling configuration
  • Continuously track the delivery progress and report on value releases aligned to the product roadmap
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings and stakeholder management within the wider organisation
  • Work with the Product Owners to scope the requirements and translate them into a realistic release plan

  • Situationally Aware - Must be the first to notice differences and issues as they arise and elevate them to management

  • Continual improvement - Must continually be growing one's craft, trying new techniques to manage the delivery and teams
  • Conflict resolution - Must be able to facilitate discussion, define alternatives or different approaches
  • Attitude of empowerment - Must be able to lead a team to self-organisation
  • Attitude of transparency - Must desire to bring disclosure and transparency to the business about delivery and build stakeholder trust

Technical Skills:

  • Understand the fundamentals of product planning and iterative development
  • Understands the fundamentals of data and analytics processes and procedures
  • Understands the value of commitments to delivery
  • Understands backlog planning and tracking, capacity planning across multiple products, burndown and other reporting metrics, velocity tracking and improvements on delivering vs commitments
  • Familiarity with common Agile practices, capacity management and multi-functional team planning

Essential Functional/Technical Skills

  • Experience of an agile framework or method as well as in-depth knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices.
