Building Engineer or Building Works Maintenance technician is required by my client to cover the North Devon area looking after the fabric of their buildings which is any structure, surface, fixture or fitting associated internally of externally with a building.
I am currently recruiting suitable candidates for a large national mail delivery company as they seek a remotely based handyperson, with strong carpentry or Joinery skills. The ideal candidate will need to be based in or around the Barnstaple or Taunton areas of North Devon as they will be expected tp cover the Northern EX postcodes and whole of the TA Postcodes. (Barnstaple or Minehead would be a good central location as you will be occasionally covering for neighbouring areas when applicable).
The candidate will be responsible for building fabric works and repairs within buildings and the property estate to include Mail Centres, Delivery Offices and Parcel depots.
This role is initially offered as a Temp position, but may lead to a Permanent position for the right candidate.
Building Fabric works to include: Repairs to doors, locks, windows, floors, drainage (surface water) and general yard repairs.
Skills required: Health & Safety awareness, carpentry/joinery, handyman skills, IT skills (basic) and driving. Locksmith skills would be an advantage. Candidate would ideally have a good geographical knowledge of the area.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00 with a 30 minute lunch break.
Out of hours call out rota: The candidate will also be required to be a part of an out of hours call out rota in a 1 in 3 week schedule to cover emergency cover only in all buildings in the (EX,TA,TQ, PL,TR postcodes).
A van, tools and materials are provided for work purposes/commuting only and not private use
