Grounds Maintenance Operator

Transform Housing & Support is recruiting a local grounds maintenance operative to join our asset management team to maintain our supported housing property portfolio throughout Surrey and surrounding areas.

Grounds Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities:

Carrying out a varied range of gardening duties, requiring a minimum amount of supervision and use of own initiative.
Complete all works allocated to the grounds team to expected professional standards.
Adhere at all times to the instructions and guidelines laid down in the staff handbook, code of conduct and operating procedures.
Comply with Transform's health and safety policy, safe systems of work, risk assessments and any other procedures or instructions issued from time to time.
Report to the Maintenance Manager all accidents, incidents and near misses in relation to work being undertaken or any safety issues observed during the course of duties.
Regularly inspect and maintain all tools and equipment to ensure they are safe to use and fit for purpose.
Competent operation of a wide range of hand tools, horticultural machinery and powered hand tools, such as lawn mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters etc.
Order and collect materials from stock or from suppliers and allocate them correctly to repair orders. Ensure authorizations to purchase are obtained where required; and delivery notes and receipts are handed in weekly.

Grounds Maintenance Supervisor Requirements:

Ability and experience in undertaking all aspects of grounds maintenance including but not limited to: Hedge Cutting, Lawn mowing, Strimming, Fencing replacement, Grounds clearance, Weed control chemical spraying, Gutter clearance, Paving, Fencing repairs, vehicle and equipment maintenance
Live within 45 minutes drive of the central Surrey area
In possession of a full, clean and valid licence to drive manual light commercial vehicles
Experience of working safely
Ability to understand schedule of works and able to update works orders, complete time sheets and log materials used.
Knowledge and understanding of health and safety relating to grounds maintenance tasks on residential property.
Ability to use portable devices and software to receive work orders, update information, send and receive emails and order materials.
Ability to work at height using ladders, access towers, platforms and scaffolding

Hours: 39 hours per week

Salary: GBP20,000 per annum plus benefits
