Here at Avantor, we have an exciting and rare opportunity in our business for a National Sales Manager for our Capital Equipment & Instrumentation portfolio.

In your role, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of the portfolio for the UK and Scotland, adopting a hands-on approach when performance managing your team of territory-aligned technical Sales Specialists.

The perpetual desire is for your team to create compelling and individualised product and service packages for our customers, resulting in revenue targets for the portfolio being achieved and exceeded and evidence of customer satisfaction.

Working hours - Monday-Friday core hours.

What you'll do on a typical day

* Manage a team of Sales Specialists, driving sales through their success and putting effective, dynamic plans in place for their development and performance

* Maintain and enhance business relationships by interacting with customers, including decision makers from technical end users and stores management procurement specialists

* Support your team with putting product and service packages together for customers, using your industry knowledge to support proposals and their effectiveness based on their requirements

* Design and execute a market relevant strategy to increase our market share and drive revenues and margin expansion within the Equipment and Instrument portfolio within the UK

* Work with the UK sales matrix and wider organisational support teams to design and execute strategical and operational business plans to ensure double digit growth within the target workflows

* Utilise a combination of stakeholder management, portfolio analysis and people management to ensure that targets are continually achieved and exceeded

* Innovate by suggest ideas for improvement to processes, including standardisation projects in line with our other teams in the UK and Ireland

* As a visible and hands-on manager, you will be engaged in team activities, regularly holding 121's and team meetingS

What you'll need to be successful:

* A degree in a science or related subject is essential to support with your understanding of our products and services

* Demonstrable, hands on previous experience selling Capital Equipment and Instrumentation product and related service packages (for example, planned preventative maintenance or PPM)

* Strong people management and development skills

* The ability to understand customer needs and influence the positive outcomes of customer contact where possible

* Evidenced strategy development and planning outputs to drive and measure innovation and continuous improvement

* High level of report writing and presentation skills, you will regularly present forecasts, budget planning and business reviews with senior stakeholders internally and externally

* Knowledge of how to create, adjust and implement KPI's and tracking metrics based on market changes

* Full UK Driving License
