Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Joiner to work within a Hospital in Edingburgh, EH16.

Due to working within a hospital, the successful candidate must have a DBS Certificate already in place and in date.

Temp to Perm.

Working Monday until Friday, 08.00 AM - 16.00 PM

GBP16.00 Per hour, paid weekly (First week will be in hand, however payment every Friday following)

General Overview: The post holder will have the required maintenance skills to ensure the safe and continuous operation of the internal and external fabric. Working within the fabric team and reporting to the fabric supervisor and fabric manager.

Impact:

The objective of the department is to operate and maintain a physical environment in which healthcare can be delivered to the patient. The main elements being the maintenance of both, building fabric and services e.g. external and internal finishes, fittings and fixtures. The provision of a project management service to Consort Healthcare from initial brief and preparation of contract documentation through tendering, contract supervision to completion. Works ranging from minor alterations to major refurbishments.

Compliance with all statutory requirements in relation to safe working practices and safe operation of equipment and services.

Keeping Records of all aforementioned activities as per all Health Technical Memoranda and Quality Assurance Requirements and to provide professional advice and guidance on all aspects of building services maintenance and repair.

Complexity:

1. Work Overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required.

2. Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities at the request of the Fabric Supervisor.

3. To liaise with Fabric Supervisor and Fabric Manager regarding request the supply of goods and/or services as necessary.

4. Using cause effect analysis and detailed examination to gain a solution and use all relevant drawings and schematics.

5. Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections in accordance with published procedures.

6. Complete all report sheets and test certificates as necessary and mark up any drawing alterations.

7. Complete all Task/Risk Assessment sheets relating to work.

8. Use all of relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works ensuring full compliance with Engie Guidelines and Controls e.g. Risk Assessment, Site Safety, Fire Safety, Control of Infection and Hazardous Substances.

9. Have an understanding relationship of other craftsmen's work to his own.

10. Obligation to undertake training where necessary to learn new techniques.

11. Understand fully the inter-relationship between the various maintenance crafts

12. Carry out any other task as requested/required by supervisor, managers.

13. Carry out planned and preventative maintenance

Qualifications or Required Experience:

Required qualifications are an appropriately recognised C&G, Scotvec (SVQ3), or equivalent in joinery.

Requirements:

* Due to working within a hospital, the successful candidate must have a DBS Certificate already in place and valid within three years to be considered.
