Insight Employment are urgently seeking a 3.5t van driver with Counterbalance license ideally but not essential to start ASAP. If you are interested and available please let me know asap.
I am looking for a multi-drop Van driver with valid Counterbalance License for a role to start asap. The company is based in Wetherby.
A bit more about the role for you:
Vans are based at their site in Wetherby.
Driving Renault Master or Mercedes Sprinter van (bespoke body with curtain sides for ambient stock and rear doors for chiller compartment). So slightly bigger than a normal LWB panel van.
Covering an area from Kent to Hants in south, Wilts & Glos in West, Norfolk & Suffolk in East and as far north as Stoke/Sheffield to the north. Obviously not all on the same day!
Working Tuesday to Friday only (occasional Monday on rota basis between Sep & Nov) and possible Sat should there be any issues that cannot be dealt with during the normal working week. Rare but possible.
Start time 5.30am at Telford, finish depending on route, but usually between 3pm and 6pm.
Role involves delivering to and checking off with customer both ambient and chilled food and drink. Customers are a mix of rural type outlets, farm shops etc and city stores, cafes etc. Collection of stock for re-routing back to warehouse also carried out during run.
Runs do regularly involve returning to depot half way through the day and reloading for a second run.
Number of drops will vary be area but typically be between 10 and 20. Mileage driven per day will be around the (Apply online only) miles.
Other duties:-
Daily van checks, fluid top ups and defect reporting
Chiller temperature monitoring and recording
Loading and unloading own van, checking against manifest (forklift service provided at depot, but if driver has counterbalance licence they will be permitted to load and unload their own van to speed up process)
Ensuring all collected goods are presented in a safe condition for onward shipping to warehouse.
Phoning Transport dept. To report any issues throughout the day and with an end of day debrief.
Dealing with damages and/or customer returns.
Occasional requirement to cover at another depot, (accommodation and overnight allowance would be provided)
Key requirements:-
Previous experience of low drop/high miles delivery work in similar type of vehicle.
Willingness to really go out of their way to delight customers, we are a service led company, our drivers are our ambassadors.
Good attention to detail in terms of navigation and checking/counting of goods.
Excellent time keeper and reliable (we route all drivers the afternoon before their run, so a driver not attending work, ultimately means customers will not receive deliveries when promised)
Someone looking for a long term, stable career with the opportunity to progress as we continue to grow.
Ability to work on own and use own initiative to solve problems whilst out on the road.
Manual handling and Health & Safety knowledge.

On offer:-
Starting rate of GBP10 per hour, will raise to GBP10.50 after 8 week probationary period and will also be subject to annual increases.
4 day working week with normally no weekend working
Company uniform and safety equipment provided (wearing is mandatory)
21.5 days holiday (5.3 weeks)
