Business Intelligence Analyst (1 year fixed term contract)

We are looking for a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to take a senior role in the development and support of our BI systems. The University's BI systems are a key tool in supporting decision making and planning across the organisation.
Data, when collected efficiently, securely, and ethically in Higher Education, it can be used to: Provide insight on where to invest time, money, and resources, improve branding, student retention as well as many others.
We are producing some interesting insights from what we have in our data warehouse but there is much more to harness from the variety of data we hold as an institution. We want to work with staff across the University to further benefit from data so it is an exciting time to join us.
You will carry out analysis, design, development, testing, support and documentation.
Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) you will be able to demonstrate the ability to innovate and provide outstanding service to our customers.
The correct candidate for this role will:
- Have a thorough understanding of Dimensional Modelling
- Have experience working within projects as a technical lead
- Have excellent skills in SQL, PL/SQL and an ETL tool (preferably Oracle or Cloud based technologies)
- Have experience of Dashboard and Report development tools (preferably Oracle, PowerBI, Tableau)
- Have a thorough understanding of Data Quality
- Have good knowledge of data protection, governance and architecture.
- Be able to organise/prioritise workloads.
- Have good analytical/problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
- Be an excellent communicator.
- Be flexible, proactive, reliable, efficient and self-motivated
- Understand and appreciate the importance of user experience
