To assist the Team Leader (Operational Services) to provide a high quality professional Supplies stock and materials management top-up service and circulate/co-ordinate

To assist the Team Leader (Operational Services) with the day-to-day running of the Operational Services Section in the absence of the Assistant Operational Services Officer

To assist the Team Leader (Operational Services) in ensuring all CAS/MHRA alerts or those direct from Suppliers and any Medical Device incidents are dealt with in accordance with Department procedures.


Load / Unload vehicles with equipment.

To print out the unsatisfied line reports from the NHS Supply Chain Stock System on a daily basis informing the customer of any shortages and liaising with NHS Supply Chain on any difficulties which may arise.

Process online orders through the NHS Supply Chain online system and local stock system adhering to the input cycles and Department Operational Procedures.

Action special Trust Fund/Capital requisitions, liaising with customers on any queries or requirements adhering to Department procedure and input cycles as instructed by the Team Leader, Operational Services.

Filing of all documentation in connection with the operation of the NHS Supply Chain Systems and the Local Stock System on a day to day basis.

On a daily basis organise any emergency deliveries and also check receipt of emergency deliveries in line with procedure.

Receive and resolve any general queries that may arise from any of the Operational Services Systems and conducts General Office duties as instructed by the Team Leader, Operational Services.

To conduct logging and filing/saving of online orders, adhering to procedures and as instructed by the Team Leader, Operational Services.

To amend on a weekly basis any standing orders on the NHS Supply Chain System and local stock systems as instructed by the Team Leader, Operational Services.

To conduct Materials Management Stock/Non Stock system for the wards and departments, including topping up and ward review visits, updating of Barcodes, completing Ward Audit, as instructed by the Team Leader, Operational Services.

Reports incorrect deliveries to NHS Supply Chain ensuring correct action is taken, arranging uplifts, matching credits received, chasing any outstanding uplifts and credits, to ensure all issues resolved as per Department Procedures.

To prepare requisitions for Goods for Recharge and Goods Free of Charge, assisting with the updating of records as directed by the Team Leader, Operational Services.

To assist within Receipt & Distribution Centre with the unpacking service on Wards/Departments and also may involve accepting and distributing deliveries within the Hospital.

Assists with providing product information and usage reports for the Medical & Surgical User Group or end users as directed by the Team Leader, Operational Services.

To set up users on the NHSSC online system as per Department Procedure.

To assist with collating information required for Monthly Performance Indicators Savings and any other relevant information.

To assist with maintaining the Department's Quality system.

Any other duties which may arise from time to time as required in the interest of ensuring provision of the Supplies service to the Trust.

This is a full time role (37.5 hours a week), typically 08:00am-4:00pm Monday to Friday. Duration of the role will be 16 weeks (with the view of extension)

Please note: due to the nature & requirement of the role (manual work, including loading/unloading stock from Vans) all applicants must be prepared to be on their feet for large parts of the day and be able to lift/carry boxes as required as part of the role.
